Psychological Service Volunteer Team Established

The establishment ceremony of psychological service volunteer team for the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games and Asian Para Games was held in the Academic Communication Centre of Guangzhou University (Guihuagang Campus).

An Jianguo, Deputy Director of the Volunteers Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC), attended the ceremony with other guests and all the volunteers of the psychological service team.

According to introduction, the ceremony was to enhance the psychological service team's sense of responsibility, honour and pride, inspire them to carry out better psychological consultancy to all volunteers of the Asian Games and Asian Para Games.

The psychological consultancy hotline of the psychological service team has been ready on service (transfer through 114). Six volunteers work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.

As city volunteers for the Games, they can provide consultancy, health care, education and medical service about psychological field.

For service types, the team will carry out psychological consultancy through 114, 12355 and relevant hotlines, conduct psychological health education and consultancy in venues and each service points, provide psychological pressure reduction methods and techniques through various media, and also take the consultancy through the psycho consulting room of Youth League school.

The team works from October 11 to December 31.
