The CPC's Commissions for Discipline Inspection

The CPC's Commissions for Discipline Inspection are functional organs that supervise and inspect how Party organizations at all levels and Party members observe the Party's rules of conduct and take disciplinary measures against members who violate the Party disciplines.

The functions and powers of the CPC's Commissions for Discipline Inspection include: supervision and inspection, case-filing, investigation, advising, discipline punishment, and drafting of Party rules.

The CPC's Commissions for Discipline Inspection include the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the local commissions for discipline inspection at all levels and the primary commissions for discipline inspection.

The main responsibilities of the CPC's commissions for discipline inspection at all levels include: safeguarding the Party Constitution and other rules of the Party; inspecting the implementation of the Party's guidelines, principles, policies and decisions; and assisting the Party committees at all levels in improving the Party's work style and coordinating anti-corruption work.

The CPC's commissions for discipline inspection at all levels must educate Party members to observe the Party rules of conduct, and make decisions in maintaining the Party disciplines. They must supervise Party leaders and officials at all levels in their exercise of powers. They should investigate and settle major or complicated cases that involve Party organizations or members who violate the Party Constitution and other Party rules. They are also supposed to decide upon imposing or canceling discipline punishment to Party members who are involved in the cases. They also must accept and properly handle indictments and appeals lodged by Party members. And they should also safeguard the rights of Party members.
