Vice President Stresses Cadre Selection in Party Building
Share

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called for optimizing the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s human resources by applying the standards of political integrity and professional competence to cadre elections.

The standards of professional competence and, more importantly, political integrity should be strictly observed in electing Party cadres, Xi said at a symposium on Party building in Guiyang, the capital city of southwest China's Guizhou Province.

Xi, a Standing Committee member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, said efforts should be made to ensure the election of people with "firm political stance, outstanding professional performance, good working style and public trust."

It is imperative for Party committees at various levels to improve Party building to lay a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the blueprint for China's development over the next five years, Xi said.

He also asked Party members to study the CPC history and learn from model members' performances and experiences so as to carry forward the CPC's fine tradition and continue to maintain the advanced nature of CPC members during the process of promoting social harmony and the country's scientific development.
