A selection of important documents of the Communist Party of China (CPC) from its founding in 1921 through the founding of the People's Republic in 1949 has been published, the book's compiler said Sunday.

Boasting 13.5 million characters and 26 volumes, the book comprised more than 3,600 documents of the CPC during the period, of which around 300 were published for the first time, according to a statement issued by the Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, who compiled the book along with the Central Archives.

The book included documents on CPC national congresses and plena of the CPC Central Committee, resolutions, announcements and instructions made by the CPC Central Committee, as well as reports, lectures, articles and letters delivered and written by CPC leaders, said the statement.

Published by the Central Literature Publishing House, the book will serve as a key tool for learners and researchers of the CPC history in the period of China's New-Democratic Revolution, it added.
