Foreign Leaders, Parties Congratulate CPC on 90th Anniversary

The leaders of many foreign countries and political parties have sent congratulatory messages to the Communist Party of China (CPC) on the 90th anniversary of founding.

In a congratulatory message, Mongolian Prime Minister and Chairman of the People's Party Sukhbaataryn Batbold said that the CPC has made outstanding achievements in boosting the nation's economic and social development as well as in leading the Chinese people to overcome various difficulties and challenges since it was founded.

The contacts between the Mongolian People's Party and the CPC have laid a solid foundation for the all-round cooperative relations between the two nations, said Batbold.

Expressing his congratulations, Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki, who is also the chief of the Party of National Unity (PNU), said that under the CPC's leadership over the past 90 years, China has achieved its national independence and has become increasingly prosperous.

"I am willing to elevate the Kenya-China friendly and cooperative relations to a new level," he said.

Lauding the great contributions the CPC has made to China's economic development and social prosperity, Greek Prime Minister and chairman of Panhellenic Socialist Movement George Papandreou said that interparty relations between the CPC and his party have made closer the ties between the two ancient countries.

He hoped that the two parties will make joint efforts to achieve social justice and people's well-being.

In his congratulatory message, Prime Minister and New Zealand National Party leader John Key said that New Zealand will seize all opportunities to strengthen the friendly contacts between the two governments and the two peoples and promote bilateral relations of mutual benefit.

Azerbaijian President and New Azerbaijan Party Chairman Ilham Aliyev said in his congratulatory letter that Azerbaijan-China cooperative relations date back to ancient times.

Political, economic and cultural contacts will be further broadened with the consolidation of bilateral ties, he said.

In his letter, Israeli President Shimon Peres expressed admiration for China's tremendous achievements under the CPC's leadership.

He also voiced confidence in the future development of Israel's relations with China.

Russia's State Duma (lower house) Chairman Boris Gryzlov said in his congratulatory letter that since its founding 90 years ago, the CPC has weathered war flames and various hardships and led the Chinese people on the road toward peace and prosperity.

Russia-China ties, featuring mutual trust in the real sense and strategic importance, are in the best shape ever, he said.

Nepalese Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Mahara said that the CPC, which successfully founded the new China in 1949, lead China from the dark to the light.

Under the guidance of Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the scientific outlook of development, the CPC is the faithful representative for the benefits of all Chinese nationalities, said Mahara, who is also the chief of foreign affairs of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

In his message, Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-E-Azam Chairman Chaudhry Shujat Hussain said that under the brilliant leadership of the CPC, Chinese people of all ethnic groups, regardless of their religions, are leading a better life and have been offered opportunities for fair competition.

Offering his congratulations, Katsuya Okada, secretary-general of the Democratic Party of Japan, said that the DPJ attaches great importance to the friendly ties with the CPC and stands ready to make greater contributions to the Japan-China strategic and mutually beneficial relations.

In his letter, Ardhendu Bhushan Bardhan, general secretary of the Communist Party of India, said that China has conducted extraordinary economic reforms.

The CPC's leadership is the guarantee of China's future economic and social development, he said.

Syed Ashraful, general secretary of the ruling Bangladesh Awami League, said in his congratulatory message that the history of the new China is closely related to the CPC.

Under the leadership of the CPC, China is sure to realize its socialist modernization, he said.

The Cambodia People's Party said in a message of congratulations that under the CPC's leadership, the Chinese people have made huge achievements in all sectors and the CPP wishes them greater success in China's future development.

Vojtech Filip, chairman of the Communist Party of Czech and Moravia, said the history of the CPC is one of greatness, honor, vicissitudes and accomplishments. It is like a book full of wisdom that could be referred to for people striving for happiness and justice worldwide.

Russia's Communist party leader Gennady Zyuganov said in his letter of congratulations that CPC's history is a story of service to the people while establishing the People's Republic of China is a historic achievement for CPC.

He also said his party is very proud of China's amazing success in economic, technological, cultural, sports and social sectors.

Bulgarian Socialist Party Chairman Sergey Stanishev said the CPC has played a major role in China's pursuit of modernization. In recent years, China's global influence has been growing, and that credit should go to CPC's strong leadership and its unprecedented socialist market economy reform.

Sean Dorgan, general secretary of Ireland's Republican Party, said the world's most significant change that has happened in the past 90 years is that China has grown to become a independent and self-confident nation.

He added that over the past several decades, the CPC has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and Ireland's relations with China could enjoy further development in the future.

The leader of the National Party of Australia, Warren Truss, said China has played a ever more positive and constructive role in promoting regional peace, stability and development, participating disaster relief, and advancing international negotiations.

His party would like to take the anniversary as an opportunity to work with the CPC in expanding cooperation and boosting Australia-China relations, he said.

The general secretary of the South African Communist Party, Blade Nzimande, said in his congratulatory message that the CPC has made great contribution to the development of Marxism-Leninism theory and led China in achieving remarkable progress.

Nigerian Party for Democracy and Socialism leader Mohamed Bazoum said the CPC is leading China along a path towards progress and prosperity.

Thato Kwerepe, general secretary of the Botswana Democratic Party, appreciated China's great assistance to Botswana as well as to many other countries.

The Botswana Democratic Party attaches great importance to the ties between the two countries and two parties and values common desires to create happy life for their respective peoples, he added. [ The chairwoman of the National Democratic Party of Suriname, Claire Linger, said the 90 years of CPC's history is the best example of unity and political stability.

She also said China's foreign policy has played an important role in promoting growth in developing nations.

Jose De Venecia, chairman of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties and a former speaker of the House of Representative of the Philippines, said China is an engine for development in Southeast Asia and a booster for East Asian economic cooperation.

Lothar Bisky, chairman of the European Left Party, said in a letter of congratulations that the CPC founded the modern China and has led it to become a world-class player in the global economic arena.

He also said the Europe-China partnership is quite important to each other's future development. He said that he expected both sides could enhance their cooperation.

Those who have sent messages of congratulations also included the leader of the Japanese Clean Government Party, Natsuo Yamaguchi; the chairman of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal, Prachanda; the first secretary of the Bulgarian Communist Party, Alexander Paunov, and many other political leaders worldwide.
