Greetings dear traveler

This month ChinAfrica Travel takes you to where the really wild things are – into the golden heart of Zambia. This southern African country, only an hour and a half's flight from Johannesburg, is truly one of the greatest places on earth for seeing animals up close in their natural habitat. The place teems with free roaming lions, elephants, leopards, giraffe, wild dog, antelope, hippos, reptiles and thousands of species of birds. It also shares one of the Natural Wonders of the World with its neighbor Zimbabwe – the Victoria Falls. I spent more than a week in this paradise and I suggest you book your trip post haste!

We also travel to the battlefields of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa where we hear the echoes of the long-dead soldiers on the battlefield at Islandwana Lodge in the Natal Midlands.

Staying in South Africa, we visit the beauty and splendor of Mpumalanga Province in South Africa and spend some time at Hannah Lodge. It is a captivating tapestry of African sounds, smells and colors, where the rising sun showers the valley with shades of pink, red and orange. It is also on the scenic Panorama Route which features the 3rd largest canyon in the world - the magnificent Blyde River Canyon.

Last but not least we go meandering along the Western Cape Region of South Africa, tasting the superb wines of the Hemel en Aarde Valley before spending a leisurely two days at De Hoop. For anyone badly in need of a vacation that offers something different – like whale watching and sand boarding, not to mention mountain biking, hiking and superb cuisine - De Hoop offers all this and so much more.

Enjoy this issue of ChinAfrica Travel and we hope to see you in Africa soon!

Bo Voyage

Jo
