Sacrifice
Share

Director Chen Kaige's history epic Sacrifice will soon come to theaters on December 4, two weeks earlier than its original release date on December 18.

This year's New Year's movie season will see a number of highly-anticipated works from other prestigious Chinese directors, such as Jiang Wen's Let the Bullets Fly on December 16 and Feng Xiaogang's If You Are the One II on December 22. Previous reports suggested that the film bureau had advised production companies to reconsider their release schedules to avoid fierce competition during that time-period.

Sacrifice is the first one to answer the call.

"Both Feng Xiaogang and Jiang Wen are good friends of mine. I've been in this industry longer, so I'm willing to give in a little," Chen said.
