Chinese experts shared anti-epidemic experience in hospital management, emergency response and medical staff training with frontline doctors in Rwanda through a webinar on April 15. 

"I hope the practice and experience of the SRRSH has value to you, and can truly help Rwanda's epidemic fight," Cai Xiujun, Head of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), Zhejiang University School of Medicine, said at the seminar. 

Cai, who led 11 Chinese experts to attend the webinar, expressed his confidence in Rwanda's success in the battle against the virus. 

The two sides had fruitful exchanges, and the Rwandan side was able to learn from the experience of the 11 Chinese experts, which is important to Rwanda, as China has largely reduced its cases, Rwandan Health Minister Daniel Ngamije, who participated in the webinar, told Xinhua in a telephone interview. 

Strong global collaboration is key to defeating the pandemic, he said, adding that China made bold decisions to contain the spread of the virus, which should be learned by countries that are in the early stages of the fight against the pandemic. 

The webinar was conducted through the Global MediXchange for Combating COVID-19 (GMCC) program, an online platform jointly set up by Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation, to fight the coronavirus pandemic. 

As of April 15, the central African country reported 136 cases with 54 recoveries. 

Chinese enterprises have been supporting Rwanda's anti-coronavirus efforts since its first case was confirmed. Earlier this month, construction company China Star handed over its second batch of donated medical supplies to the government of Rwanda. 

The Association of Chinese Enterprises in Rwanda in March donated 10 million Rwandan francs ($11,000) to Rwandan health ministry.
