The following are the schedules for the third session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) and the third session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on May 21.

CPPCC:

-- At 3 p.m., the third session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee will hold its opening meeting at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing;

-- Wang Yang, Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, will deliver a report on the work of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, which will be broadcast live by the China Media Group and on xinhuanet.com.

NPC:

-- In the afternoon, delegations of deputies to the third session of the 13th NPC will hold meetings to elect heads and deputy heads of delegations;

-- Deputies will deliberate a draft name list of the session's presidium and secretary-general;

-- Deputies will deliberate a draft agenda of the session;

-- At night, a preparatory meeting for the third session of the 13th NPC will be held to elect the presidium and secretary-general, and to vote on the draft agenda. The presidium will then hold its first meeting;

-- At 9:40 p.m., the spokesperson for the NPC session will give a press conference on the agenda of the session and issues related to the work of the NPC via video link.
