China's star sprinter Su Bingtian clocked 9.92 seconds to win his first gold medal at the Asian Games in the Men's 100M final on August 26.

Su finished in 9.91 seconds in the Men's 100M race at the Paris leg of the 2018 IAAF Diamond League in June, which tied the Asian record created by Qatar's Nigerian-born Femi Ogunode in 2015.

"I'm proud to win honors for my country, but I do hope for more at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games," said Su.

Born in Zhongshan City, south China's Guangdong Province, in 1989, Su entered the semifinal of the Men's 100M at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, becoming the first Chinese to run in the Men's 100M semifinal at the Olympics. In May last year, Su won the Men's 100M at the Shanghai leg of the 2017 IAAF Diamond League, becoming the first Chinese champion.
