Hello and welcome to the 6-7th issue of Beijing Review.
(VCG) COVER STORY Unchanged Feelings looks at the enduring themes of Spring Festival celebrations as people welcome the Year of the Pig. As the cities dress up in red lanterns and holiday decorations, people prepare for the trip to their hometowns for highly anticipated family reunions and the overall feelings of love, hope and good wishes for fortune in the New Year. Business Express Delivery discusses how the rapidly growing courier industry is set to face tech-based developments. The innovation-based transformation will include automatic sorting and unmanned warehousing to increase efficiency as well as the application of artificial intelligence and the use of the Internet of Things. Steady growth in the industry is anticipated and cross-border e-commerce logistics will develop faster. Culture Imperial Celebrations looks at how the Palace Museum is showing how ancient emperors celebrated the Spring Festival. The exhibit has six sections showing different objects used in the celebrations, such as decorations, offerings to ancestors, feasts, music, entertainment and replicas of couplets and lanterns used over the centuries in the palace. In addition, special Spring Festival products have been produced and 145 time-honored brands are participating in a showcase of traditional items that enrich the annual celebrations around China.
