Increasing numbers of tourists and mountaineers have been coming and generate large amounts of rubbish, so areas above the nature reserve and Rongbuk Monastery in southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region have been closed to tourists. The country is moving to protect ecology at all of its nature reserves.

Settling In examines the potential in filmmaking created by the blockbuster success of China’s first big budget sci-fi film, The Wandering Earth. Taking the country by storm, the film has become the second highest grossing film behind Wolf Warrior 2. Experts call for more diversity in sci-fi films, a full-fledged industrial system for filmmaking and high-quality content to break more ground for higher quality Chinese sci-fi movies.
