Liu Yunshan (front left), a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, visits an expo on cybersecurity during the 2016 China Cybersecurity Week in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province on September 19 (XINHUA) China should strengthen cybersecurity through public education on lawful cyberspace management, a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) leader said. Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at the opening of China Cybersecurity Week. Liu said Internet development and cyberspace security should go hand-in-hand. Education on cybersecurity should be improved to ensure adherence to socialist core values, with more done to ensure healthy legal governance. He called for active participation in building a peaceful, safe, open and cooperative cyber space for the whole world. Hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the ministries of industry and information technology, education and public security, the event will help the public better understand Internet security.
