Zhu Ting

Zhu Ting, captain of the Chinese women's volleyball team, led the squad to win the FIVB Women's World Cup gold on September 29, and a ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.

It was China's fifth World Cup triumph (including 1981, 1985, 2003 and 2015) and the 10th title (including three Olympic and two world championship gold medals) across the sport's three major competitions.

Zhu was named the Most Valuable Player and the Best Spiker of the World Cup.

Born in 1994 in central China's Henan Province, Zhu debuted on the national team in 2013 and won the 2015 World Cup with the team and the Rio Summer Olympics gold in 2016. She joined the Turkish club VakifBank Istanbul in 2016 and left in May.

On October 1, she announced that she will join the Tianjin Women's Volleyball Club in the new season. She will participate in the 2019-2020 Chinese Women's Volleyball Super League and 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women's Club World Championship as a Tianjin team member.
