A group of experts from the Mountaineering Association of China and the Mountaineering Association of Shaanxi Province undertook an expedition from Tai Bai Mountain to Ao Mountain, the two highest peaks of the Qinling Mountains in south Shaanxi Province, to explore a safe route for mountain hikers.

In recent years, outdoor hiking has become very popular in China. But the number of accidents that led to casualties is on the rise. For many people, the charm of outdoor adventure lies in its mystery and uncertainty. However, many accidents took place during the trips due to the lack of preparation or insufficient knowledge and experience. When encountering extreme weather or danger, some hikers probably don't know what to do.

In this situation, it is necessary for related professional organizations to make safety guidelines for hikers and provide training for those who are fond of exploring. A route map for wild mountains and forests will help hikers follow safe paths during their journey and avoid danger as much as possible. Furthermore, local governments should improve and enhance emergency services in mountain areas to launch timely rescue for those who are in danger.

The exploring expedition undertaken by the two mountaineering organizations is also meaningful to encourage joint efforts from the public to improve rescue operation systems.

The expedition route explored by professional organizations doesn't mean absolute safety to hikers. Outdoor hikers should raise their awareness of safety issues and not try to risk their lives to pursue excitement in adventures.
