China International Publishing Group (CIPG) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) in Beijing on June 16. The goal is to make full use of each other's advantages and help the international community gain a better understanding of China.
"We share a common duty in telling China's stories and spreading China's voices," Zhang Fuhai, President of CIPG, the country's leading international publisher, said at the signing ceremony.
BFSU President Peng Long deemed the agreement signing as a historic moment for the two bodies. BFSU now offers 84 foreign language courses. By 2020, the number will increase to 100, covering the official languages of all the countries that have established diplomatic relations with China.
