With art classes being an important component of education in China, students are encouraged to develop their artistic talent. Through the Golden Sail organization, primary and middle school students in Beijing can enroll in music and dance classes. The organization has nearly 10,000 students and teach 10 different subjects. Not all artistic troupes can call themselves Golden Sail, only those that meet the criteria set by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education.

The Golden Sail dance troupe of the Zhongguancun No.2 Primary School in Beijing presented an impressive performance in March to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the troupe. About 350 students and staff took part to present a spectacle applauded by the spellbound audience.
