On December 16, people at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing light candles and mourn for the victims of the terror attack at the Army Public School in Peshawar in 2014 (BAI SHI)

"We will never forget," cried people who attended a memorial event at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing on December 16.

In memory of the students of the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar who were killed at their school in a terror attack by Taliban militants one year before, remembrance events have been held in Pakistan and in countries around the world.

On December 16, 2014, seven Taliban gun men attacked the APS and killed 150 people, including 134 students who were mostly aged 10 to 18. The serious terror attack caused worldwide condemnation.

A teenage Pakistani girl, on behalf of students of an international school in Beijing, said at the ceremony that, "Terrorism is not religion and we will never forget the bloody incident."

In Beijing, several hundreds of Pakistani people who study and work in China, together with friends and guests from other countries, participated in a candlelight vigil at the embassy.
