Chinese Vice Premier Liu He held a phone call with U.S. trade officials on August 25 morning, with both sides agreeing to continue to promote the implementation of the phase-one trade agreement.
According to a statement the Ministry of Commerce released on August 25 morning, Liu held a phone call with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
Both sides held constructive talks on cementing cooperation in macroeconomy and agreed to strive to create a favorable condition for implementing the phase-one trade deal between the two countries, the statement said.
Liu is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chief of the Chinese side of the China-U.S. comprehensive economic dialogue.
