May 22 marks International Day for Biological Diversity. Today, the extinction of species has gone into overdrive. Biodiversity loss poses a major risk to human survival and development. Chinese President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to biodiversity protection. Xi is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission.
