Interactive biz looking good

Apart from social networking websites, enterprises with "interactive" concepts have little difficulty in gaining funding crucial to their development.

Recently, interactive news website "Digg" conducted a second round of fund raising, securing a total investment of $8.5 million from venture capital organization Greylock and eBay founder Pierre Omidyar. In October 2005, Digg obtained $2.8 million in its initial round of fund raising. Reevoo, a shopping assessment website for electronic products, headquartered in the UK and renowned for its impartiality, also secured initial funds totaling 2.5 million pounds (approximately $4.25 million).

Shanghai's Roadway Direct Marketing Solutions, a leading professional direct marketing service provider in China that helps clients implement market promotions through direct mail, e-mail(5¥Œ), fax and telemarketing, recently announced that it raised a total of $1 million in its second round of funding, led by Mitsubishi Corp.

Venda, a dedicated B2B (business to business) and B2C (business to customer) electronic commerce platform, achieved profitability by collecting monthly fees from users. This solid foundation led to the raising of $20 million in investment funds, led by IGC, which boosted the status of the "interactive" concept industry overall.

Through interaction with customers both online and offline, and the collection and feedback of relevant information in a timely manner, these interactive concept enterprises have attracted large numbers of users and have generated substantial revenue for themselves.

"We have a favorable view of these enterprises," said David Zhang, Managing Director of WI Harper Group. "They have direct contact with the consumers and they can trigger demand and bring in revenue."
