RIDING THE WIND: The Laoyemiao Wind Farm, the largest wind power project in Jiangxi Province, adds the last of its wind turbines, for a total of 33 turbines, on June 21. The project is expected to generate 102 million kilowatt hours annually (HONG XIANZHI)

369.51 billion yuan

Centrally administered state-owned enterprises earned net profits of 369.51 billion yuan ($56.8 billion) in the first five months of 2011, up 14.2 percent from the previous year, said the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.

18.73 billion yuan

China's lottery sales amounted to 18.73 billion yuan ($2.88 billion) in May, growing 29.7 percent from a year ago, said the Ministry of Finance.
