China's purchasing managers index (PMI), a barometer of manufacturing activities, jumped to 53.1 percent in March, the fourth consecutive month of growth, said the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP).

Business activities in China's non-manufacturing sector also steadily recovered due to rising market demands, with the sector's PMI rising to 58 percent in March, 0.7 of a percentage point higher than that in February, according to the CFLP.

6.69 billion yuan

China Railway Group Ltd., one of China's leading heavy infrastructure companies, said its net profit in 2011 fell 9.55 percent year on year to 6.69 billion yuan ($1.1 billion).

4.82 billion yuan

Suning Appliance Co., China's largest home appliance retailer by market value, said its net profit in 2011 rose 20.16 percent year on year to 4.82 billion yuan ($766 million).
