180 million

The number of Chinese who have received their basic pensions exceeded 180 million by the end of August, said Hu Xiaoyi, Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Security.

100 billion yuan

Sales of welfare lottery tickets in China this year hit 100 billion yuan ($15.78 billion) as of September 2, a rise of 21.47 percent year on year, according to the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

11.35 billion yuan

Sales revenue at China Vanke Co.—the country's largest property developer by market value—increased 8.3 percent year on year to 11.35 billion yuan ($1.79 billion) in August.

More than 200,000 people made reservations for hotels in Hong Kong through Taobao between January and June, making Hong Kong the most popular travel destination among Chinese netizens, according to a survey by Taobao, China's largest online marketplace.
