Hu Deping, currently the Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China and Vice Chairman of the All-China General Chamber of Industry & Commerce, was awarded the "Hilal-i-Pakistan", the country's highest civilian honor, at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Beijing on Tuesday.

The Hilal-i-Pakistan has been conferred on Hu in recognition of his endeavors towards strengthening friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China. The confirmation letter for the award stated that Hu had contributed significantly towards the promotion of Pakistan-China friendship and the strengthening of their economic partnership, especially between the private sectors of the two countries.

Under the leadership of Hu, the All-China General Chamber of Industry & Commerce has played a significant role in promoting private sector cooperation between China and Pakistan, said H.E. Mr. Salman Bashir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, while addressing the ceremony.

Hu thanked the Government of Pakistan for conferring the prestigious award on him, and said that the award was not his personal honor but could be attributed to his team. He hoped that China would contribute more to world peace, and that the friendship between China and Pakistan would be enhanced in the future.
