A press conference held on Thursday, January 24, revealed that Celebration China is scheduled to take place in Qingdao, the Sailing City of China, from April 30 to May 4, 2008.

According to Michael Scordino, Celebration China spokesperson and CEO of Capstone Global Ltd., the event will be an international festival comprising World Match Racing Tour exhibition events; an extreme sports event headlining top athletes from the world of skateboarding, BMX biking, and freestyle motor-cross; a fashion show with musical extravaganza; an international wine pavilion, and so forth.

"With full backing from the Government of Qingdao, the combination of international and Chinese, cultural and sports exhibitions is expected to draw in substantial business and consumer interest," he stated. "This five-day multi-faceted event is expected to attract over one million visitors in China and abroad."

"Qingdao will be the sailing venue of the 2008 Olympiad," said Bai Guangzhao, Vice Secretary-General of the Qingdao Municipal People's Government. "As the Olympic Games approach, it will be a showcase of Qingdao, the Sailing City of China, as well as China to the international community."

MySpace China is one of the official media partners for the event, which is co-organized by the Qingdao Municipal People's Government and Capstone Global Ltd., under the auspices of the Sailing Committee of the 29th Olympic Games.
