The CIFIT 2009 Will Be Held as Usual

The 13th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) will be held in Xiamen this September as usual although a great impact to investment and trade caused by the global financial crisis, according to the first session of the CIFIT organizing committee.

Efforts are being made to create a unique event that will have a wide-ranging impact around the globe. Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, CIFIT is now the only activity of its types in China aimed at promoting two-way international investment, and is also the world's largest event of its kind.

The 2009 event is expected to expand investment channels and blaze new trails. According to Wang Chao, assistant of minister of Commerce, the 2009 event will further improve the system mechanism, expand the channels of holding such an event and braze new trails in the form of this aspect. CIFIT's organizing committee aims to promote the two-way investment idea of "introduction" and "going global," and will actively arrange bilateral and multilateral trade activities between China and other regions and countries, such as African and the Caribbean countries; combining a new situation emerged by both sides of the Taiwan Straits to speed up the promotion of trade exchanges and cooperation for the two sides; continue to invite outbound business people to intensify the effort of attracting big-name home-grown companies and enterprises.
