Share

The fifth Beijing Human Rights Forum was held from December 12 to 13 in Beijing. Experts from across the world took part and submitted papers on the complex issue of human rights.

The theme of this year's forum was Science and Technology, Environment and Human Rights. History is wrought with examples of how the development of science and technology has promoted the liberation of human thought and how the liberation of thought has promoted the development of science and technology in return. The advancement of science and technology has not only improved quality of living across the globe but also impacted how we perceive human rights, Wang Chen, Minister of the State Council Information Office, said at the opening ceremony of the forum.

The forum has been held annually over the past five years, providing a platform for exchange on topics of international human rights.
