The first China-Myanmar Round Table Conference on People's Exchanges was held in Kunming City, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, on May 14.

More than 100 representatives from businesses, media, academic institutes and NGOs from the two countries discussed how to promote people-to-people exchanges, so as to pool wisdom for further enhancing strategic partnership between the two countries and bilateral cooperation in economic, cultural, environment and mass media fields.

In April, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Myanmar's President U Thein Sein during the 2013 Boao Forum for Asia in south China's Hainan Province. They pledged to boost the "all-round" cooperation between the two countries, which established a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2011.
