Tickets for the opening day--May 1--of Shanghai World Expo had been sold out, local authorities said Saturday.

No more tickets for the opening day were available as of April 20. The Expo park's ticket booths will not provide tickets for May 1 either, according to a statement from the Expo bureau.

The statement advised visitors, who do not have tickets for the opening day, to visit the Expo park on another day.

Tickets for May 2 and May 3 were not sold out yet, it added.
