Henry Norman Bethune (FILE)

Henry Norman Bethune (1890-1939), a Canadian doctor who is known for providing medical assistance to Chinese troops during the war. He joined the Communist Party of Canada in 1935 and led a medical team made of American and Canadian doctors to China in 1938.

In October 1939, he cut his left hand while performing an operation and his wound became infected. In November of the same year, he died of the infection in Hebei Province.
