Comedian-turned-director Stephen Chow finally shed light on his long-awaited fiction film, CJ7, at a premiere on Wednesday in Hong Kong.

HKSAR Chief Executive Donald Tsang and local stars Edison Chen and Stephen Fung were among the film's first viewers.

Stephen Chow heads for Beijing on Thursday to kick off the film's mainland premiere tour.

After Chow's phenomenally successful 2004 martial arts film, Kung Fu Hustle, fans have long-expected CJ7 to be another big surprise.

The technology-rich comedy was written, produced and directed by Chow, who also starred in the film. It is about a boy, cross-played by mainland child actress Xu Jiao, and his alien dog friend.
