Feng Xiaogang's latest blockbuster film, The Assembly, opened a screening session for outstanding Chinese films in Macao on Wednesday.

Local movie fans attending the five-day session will also get the chance to enjoy other five art-house or comedy films that have been well-received on the mainland, including Teeth of Love, The Road, My Left Hand, One Foot Off the Ground, and A Room for Two Persons.

Mainland stars of the films, including Teeth of Love actress Yan Bingyan and One Foot Off the Ground actress Xu Fan are promoting the films in Macao.

The event, which is running into its fifth edition, is spearheaded by the Macao Media Advancement Association and the Beijing-based China Film Foundation, aimed at introducing Macao residents to high quality mainland films.
