Action star Jet Li and mainland actress Siqin Gaowa were honored with the Best Actor and Actress awards at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday.

Jet Li, who portrayed a conspirator in the war epic The Warlords, said his 28 years of hard work had finally paid off.

This is the second time Siqin Gaowa has nabbed the Best Actress award.

"It is truly beyond my expectations," the actress said, applauding at how the awards have evolved in the 23 years since she was first given the Best Actress award.

The Warlords was the biggest winner at the awards, sweeping another seven titles including Best Film, Best Director, Best Visual Effects and the Best Costume Make-Up and Design.
