The festival is comprised of three sessions: film screenings, an opening gala, and an international forum on sports films.

Twenty-three films from China and 18 films from foreign countries, including Great Britain, Greece, Italy and Spain, will be screened during the festival.

Films familiar to Chinese audiences, such as South Korean production Lump Suger and Japanese film The Prince of Tennis, are scheduled to open on June 29.

Jointly hosted by the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and the General Administration of Sport of China, the festival hails the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
