The romance film Snow Fall in Taipei adapted from a Japanese youth novel is slated for release on April 1, Mtime.com reports.
The film was directed by Chinese director Huo Jianqi, the director of Postmen in the Mountains, a smash hit in Japan. A China/Japan/Hong Kong/Taiwan co-production, Snow Fall in Taipei is a romantic film starring popular Taiwan actor Berlin Chen along with the mainland actress Tong Yao.
Set in a small town on the outskirts of Taipei, the story revolves around a kindhearted boy, Seamus (Berlin Chen), who makes a living performing odd-jobs. He falls in love with May (Tong Yao), a new singer from the Chinese mainland who loses her voice before the release of her new single and flees to Taipei, China's Taiwan Province.
From the peaceful Taipei backstreets to the glamorous entertainment elite, this is a romantic tale about being lost and being found. The sleek MTV-style look and exquisite cinematography can take audiences into another fascinating world.
