Lost in Thailand, the Chinese comedy which has been setting attendance records in China, is set to open at selected AMC theaters in North America on February 8.
AMC said the film will open in 29 locations in North America.
The directorial debut of Chinese actor Xu Zheng, Lost in Thailand was produced for just $4.8 million. Despite its small budget, it topped Titanic 3D to become the highest-grossing film with the revenue of over 1 billion yuan ($158 million) in China this past year, and the second highest-grossing film of all time.
The film follows an odd couple - one a savvy urban businessman and the other a clueless country bumpkin - on a road-trip across Thailand.
Dalian Wanda bought the AMC movie theater chain last year for $2.6 billion.
