Ang Lee Wins Best Director Oscar

Ang Lee, director of Life of Pi, won the Oscar Award for Best Director at the 85th Academy Awards on  February 24.

Li succeeded over Michael Haneke of Amour, Benh Zeitlin of Beasts of the Southern Wild, Steven Spielberg of Lincoln and David O. Russell of Silver Linings Playbook to win the golden statuette.

Coming from China's Taiwan, 59-year-old Lee won the Oscar Award for Best Director in 2005 for Brokeback Mountain.

The award for Best Picture went to Ben Affleck's Argo, which also won awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Editing.

Daniel Day-Lewis earned an Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in Lincoln, while Jennifer Lawrence won the award for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook.
