President Hu Jintao's Visit in Japan
President Hu Jintao (front Right) greets the kin of Japanese friends, one of whom is Akimitsu Mukai (holding his baby) and his wife Emi at a Tokyo hotel on the first day of his current "warm-spring" trip to Japan, May 6, 2008. "My visit to Japan is aimed at further enhancing the friendly feelings between the people of the two countries and push for further development of Sino-Japanese friendly cooperation," Hu told family members of four late Japanese friends from the country's civil community, who made outstanding contributions to the normalization and improvement of relations between China and Japan over the past several decades. Hu, who arrived in Tokyo yesterday on the first visit by a Chinese president in a decade, is on a five-day trip as relations between the two countries improve. (Xinhua)
