World AIDS Day Commemoration in Beijing
Volunteer wear stickers of red ribbons, the symbol of AIDS awareness, as Health authorities and the U.N. AIDS agency launched a campaign to fight discrimination against people with AIDS in China, at the National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest, in Beijing, on November 30, 2008. A 20-meter by 15-meter banner with the red AIDS awareness ribbon printed on it was unveiled during the campaign. A total of 44,839 people living with HIV/AIDS were reportedly found in China during the first nine months of this year, the Ministry of Health said on Sunday. (Xinhua)
