The October 8 photo shows Harbin West Railway Station in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. China is testing its Harbin-Dalian High-Speed Railway line, the world's first high-speed rail line in a cold climate region. The 921-km new high-speed railway stretches from the northeast province of Heilongjiang to Jilin and Liaoning provinces. The CRH380B trains are able to adapt to a temperature range of 40 Celsius above zero and minus 40 Celsius, and can handle severe weather conditions, including strong winds, sandstorms, heavy rain, snow and fog (XINHUA) |
