The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games lasted from February 7-23. A total of 26 countries made it onto the medals table with the host country Russia coming out on top with a grand total of 13 gold, 11 silver and 9 bronze medals. China placed 12th with 9 medals including three golds that were won in the women's 1,000m speed skating and the women's 500m and 1,500m short track speed skating.

The Chinese delegation for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games was composed of 139 members, including 66 athletes -- 27 male and 39 female -- who competed in 49 events altogether.

The average age of the athletes was 25.2 years old. Peng Cheng was the youngest, at only 16-years-old, and Tong Jian, the oldest, is 34. Tong, along with three other athletes -- Pang Qing, Zhang Hao and Li Nina, -- have participated in four winter Olympic games, while 33 of the team made their Olympic debuts in Sochi.
