(ZHENG HUANSONG)

Special police officers dispose of a simulated "dirty bomb" during a mock terrorism drill in Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on June 9.

China held its largest-ever national antiterrorism exercise, codenamed "Great Wall 6," on June 9-17. A variety of specialized drills were conducted in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Shanxi and Hebei provinces that neighbor Beijing, with the aim of testing the capabilities of the regions to deal with terrorist attacks and other emergencies during the National Day celebrations in October.
