Share

The telephone, light bulb, steam engine, television…many revolutionary new technologies have debuted at World Expos over the past one and a half centuries. Expo visitors are hoping to be surprised and excited by new technologies. Here are some amazing technologies showcased at the World Expo in Shanghai.

FANTASY WORLD: Visitors in a hall equipped with a giant 3-dimensional IMAX screen in the Saudi Arabia Pavilion. The IMAX screen with an area of 1,600 square meters is the largest of its kind in the world. It produces spectacular visual effect (WANG SONG)

LISTENING TO FAUST: A visitor listens to a book that can read its own content loudly in the Germany Pavilion on May 16 (WU XIAOLING)

COOL FOG: Visitors walk through an artificial fog sprayed from a cooling system in the Asia Square of the Expo site. The fog can bring down the temperature in a 3-meter area by 6 degrees Celsius within 15 minutes (LI ZIHENG)

HOME ENERGY SYSTEM: A stereo image of a home energy management system in Japan Pavilion on May 19 (CHEN JIANLI)

LOOK DENMARK IN THE EYE: The Denmark Pavilion is a large spiral. Looked at from above, it resembles an eye with a beautiful, blue pupil. In the middle sits the statue of the Little Mermaid
