Officers discuss combat plans during the drill (ZHA CHUNMING)

A Chinese warship launches a missile during a live firing drill in the East China Sea in early July.

On June 30, the Ministry of National Defense said the People's Liberation Army Navy would conduct an annual live-ammunition training exercise on June 30-July 5.

Dozens of warships and fighter jets in the East China Sea Fleet participated in the drill, aimed at exploring new battlefield skills and combat coordination.
