Kang Chenchen, a student from Yunnan Arts University, ignites the 16th Asian Games flame during a traditional sun-ray ceremony on the Great Wall in Beijing on October 9.

The month-long torch relay for the Asian Games, to be held in Guangzhou in Guangdong Province, started in Beijing on October 12.

The relay will also pass through Harbin in Heilongjiang Province, Changchun in Jilin Province, Haiyang in Shandong Province and 21 cities in Guangdong, before arriving at the Asian Games' opening ceremony on November 12. More than 2,000 torchbearers, ranging in age from six to 100, will participate.

The Asian Games, which are expected to see the participation of more than 12,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions, will conclude on November 27.
