August 1987: The State Council established an anti-monopoly law drafting group.
1988: Draft measures of the anti-monopoly and unfair competition law were raised.
September, 1993: The Law of the People's Republic of China on Combating Unfair Competition was adopted by the third meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eighth National People's Congress on September 2, 1993, and became effective on December 1 of the same year.
1994: The Ministry of Commerce enacted and drafted an anti-monopoly law, and the draft was debated in the legislature, but was not adopted.
1998: The draft was again debated in the legislature, but it was not adpoted.
December, 2003: The National People’s Congress reviewed the draft plan.
2004: The State Council put the law on the legislative agenda.
August 30, 2007: The Anti-monopoly Law of the People’s Republic of China was adopted at the 29th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 10th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China. |
