Red Rose and White Rose, another of Lust, Caution author Eileen Chang's works, had a sold-out theatrical premiere on Sunday in Nanjing of eastern China's Jiangsu province.

The play, starring Qin Hailu, Hu Jingfan, Xin Baiqing and Gao Hu, was so successful that some viewers jumped onto the stage asking for autographs at the end of the show.

Red Rose and White Rose is about a man named Zhenbao, who is married to a quiet lady, White Rose, but is drawn to another married woman, Red Rose.

Sunday's show was a trial run before it will be staged from December 27 to 31 as a tribute to Eileen Chang in her hometown of Shanghai. It will eventually join the performance season of the National Grand Theater in Beijing on January 8.
