French media veteran Wa Abi Abdullah has sent an open letter to French President and current EU rotatory President Nicolas Sarkozy, criticizing his recent meeting with the Dalai Lama.

Wa Abi Abdullah says the meeting does not serve France's interests, and France is not entitled to criticize human rights in China. He says the French government has made a grave error.

Wa Abi Abdullah says the meeting does not serve France's interests, and France is not entitled to criticize human rights in China.

Wa Abi Abdullah, Former French TV director & producer, said, "We all see and feel the president and the finance minister are very embarrassed about Sino-French relations. I hope this time they can draw lessons from previous experiences. Actually, they should not make the same mistake, because they reflected a lot last time. I hope this time the reflection will be deeper and more sincere. We should maintain good relations between China and France, and this is of strategic significance for both France and the EU."
