Evening Gala to Celebrate Tibetan New Year

The Tibetan New Year will fall on Feb. 25 and a gala TV show is being recorded for broadcast across China on the new year's eve.

The nationwide audience can watch this gala show on Tibet Satellite TV.

The Tibetan New Year gala will start with a dance called "Golden Ox on Snow" with more than 100 dancers.

About 800 performers will join in the gala, and 200 of them are ordinary people.Pu said among these amateur actors, the oldest is 78 while the youngest is only 10. They will perform Tibetan traditional folk dances and play instruments.The gala evening is the result of three months’ refined preparations.
